Itinerary
Day 1: Day 1 – Arrival at Guwahati to Bhalukpong
Upon arrival at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, you will meet your driver and begin a scenic drive towards Bhalukpong, the gateway to Arunachal Pradesh. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours and passes through lush green landscapes, tea gardens, and small Assamese towns. On arrival at Bhalukpong, complete the entry formalities required for visiting Arunachal Pradesh and check in to your hotel. In the evening, you may take a short walk along the banks of the beautiful Kameng River or explore the peaceful surroundings of this small border town. Overnight stay at the hotel in Bhalukpong.
Day 2: Day 2 – Bhalukpong to Tawang
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, start your long yet incredibly scenic drive towards Tawang. The journey is one of the most beautiful mountain drives in Northeast India, passing through dense forests, winding mountain roads, and high-altitude landscapes. En route, you will cross Dirang, a charming Himalayan village known for its scenic beauty, hot water springs, and traditional stone houses. Continue the journey across the spectacular Sela Pass, situated at an altitude of around 13,700 ft, offering breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and the serene Sela Lake. Later, visit the historic Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to the bravery of Indian soldiers during the Sino-Indian War. By evening, reach Tawang and check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Day 3 – Tawang Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Tawang. Begin with a visit to the famous Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and the second-largest in the world. The monastery offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and houses a massive golden statue of Buddha. Later, visit Tawang War Memorial, built in honor of soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Sino-Indian War. Continue to Urgeling Monastery, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. Later, explore the beautiful high-altitude lakes around Tawang such as Madhuri Lake (also known as Sangetsar Lake), famous for its surreal beauty and film connection. Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay in Tawang.
Day 4: Day 4 – Tawang to Bomdila
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Bomdila. The return journey again takes you through the breathtaking Sela Pass, offering magnificent views of the Himalayan landscape. En route, you may stop at scenic viewpoints and visit Dirang to explore its quaint valley surroundings. Upon arrival in Bomdila, check in to your hotel. Later, visit Bomdila Monastery, a peaceful monastery offering beautiful views of the mountains and valley. Overnight stay at the hotel in Bomdila.
Day 5: Day 5 – Bomdila to Guwahati Drop

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Guwahati. The journey takes approximately 7–8 hours, passing through the scenic foothills of Arunachal Pradesh and the lush plains of Assam. Enjoy views of forests, rivers, and tea gardens along the way.
