    Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kochi → Scenic Transfer to Munnar

Your Kerala journey begins with arrival at Kochi, the historic port city often called the Queen of the Arabian Sea. After meeting your driver, you proceed on one of South India’s most beautiful hill drives toward Munnar. The route itself is part of the experience — winding mountain roads, waterfalls cascading down rocky slopes, spice plantations, and mist-covered valleys gradually introduce you to the Western Ghats landscape. Munnar is famous for tea plantations, biodiversity, and peaceful mountain scenery, making it one of Kerala’s most iconic hill destinations. Evening is free for leisure exploration of the local market or relaxing at your resort.

Day 2: Full-Day Sightseeing in Munnar

    Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast at the hotel, guests set out for a full day dedicated to exploring the charming attractions of Munnar. The tour generally begins with a visit to Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai), famous as the home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and known for its rolling hills, grasslands, and panoramic valley views. The park offers a bus ride up the hill and a gentle walk to viewpoints from where the beauty of Munnar’s landscape can be truly admired. The next stop is usually the Tea Museum (Tata Tea Museum), where guests can understand the history and evolution of tea plantations in Munnar. Here they get a chance to see old machinery, learn about tea processing, and even taste freshly brewed tea. After this, the tour continues to Mattupetty Dam, a popular spot known for its calm reservoir surrounded by green hills. Guests can enjoy the scenic view and, if interested, opt for boating on the serene waters. Close to this area lies the Echo Point, where the natural echo phenomenon delights visitors as their voices bounce back from the hills. It is a fun and refreshing stop, also offering great photo opportunities. Depending on the available time, the sightseeing can also include places like Kundala Lake, known for its peaceful setting and occasional pedal or row boating options, and visits to sprawling tea plantations where guests can walk amidst the endless green carpet of tea bushes and capture memorable photographs. By evening, guests return to the hotel in Munnar and spend the night there, resting after a delightful day in the hills.

Day 3: Transfer from Munnar to Thekkady and Local Sightseeing

    Meals: Breakfast

After checking out from the hotel in Munnar, guests proceed towards Thekkady, a beautiful destination known for its wildlife, forests, and spice plantations. The drive itself is scenic, with winding roads, cardamom estates, and dense greenery on both sides. On reaching Thekkady, guests check in to their hotel and then begin exploring the area. One of the key attractions of Thekkady is the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, famous for its lake and rich flora and fauna. Guests usually head to the Periyar Lake for a boat ride (subject to ticket availability), where they can enjoy views of the surrounding forest and may even spot wildlife such as elephants, bison, deer, and various birds along the banks. The peaceful boat ride amidst the natural setting is a memorable experience. Thekkady is also well known for its spice plantations, and guests can visit a spice garden to see how various spices such as cardamom, pepper, clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg are grown. A guided walk through the plantation helps them understand the uses and benefits of different spices, and there is also the option to purchase authentic spices from the farm outlets. In the evening, guests can opt to enjoy traditional Kathakali (classical dance) or Kalaripayattu (martial art) shows at local cultural centres, which add a flavour of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage to the trip. After sightseeing and activities, guests return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Thekkady.

Day 4: Transfer to Alappuzha (Alleppey) + Backwater Experience

    Meals: Breakfat-Lunch-Dinner

Today you move from forest highlands to Kerala’s famous coastal backwater network. ✦ Houseboat / Backwater Sightseeing Alleppey Backwaters • Palm-lined canals, paddy fields, village life scenes. • Traditional kettuvallam (houseboat) cruise experience. • Fresh Kerala meals cooked onboard. Day 5: Alleppey to Cochin Drop

    Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast and check-out from the houseboat or hotel, guests proceed towards Cochin (Kochi) for their onward journey. If time permits and as per the schedule, there is an option to cover brief Cochin sightseeing on the way, including attractions such as the Fort Kochi area, Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, or Marine Drive, offering a glimpse of the city’s blend of colonial history and modern charm.
