On the way, travelers stop at the picturesque Umiam Lake, a large reservoir surrounded by green hills that offers beautiful panoramic views. In Shillong, visitors explore popular attractions such as Elephant Falls and the viewpoint at Shillong Peak. Itinerary
Day 1: Guwahati Arrival – Transfer to Shillong
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be welcomed by our representative. After a brief introduction, begin your scenic drive to Shillong, often referred to as the “Scotland of the East.” En route, visit the beautiful Umiam Lake (Barapani) – a vast and serene lake surrounded by pine-covered hills, ideal for photo stops and a short break. On reaching Shillong, check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, you can explore the local Police Bazaar for shopping and local cuisine.
Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunji
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji, the wettest place on Earth, known for its lush green landscapes and waterfalls. Your sightseeing includes Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest plunge waterfalls in India, Seven Sisters Falls, and the Eco Park that offers panoramic views of Sylhet Plains. Also, visit Mawsmai Cave, a well-lit limestone cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites, and Arwah Cave, known for fossils embedded in limestone walls. End the day soaking in the beauty of Dainthlen Falls before checking into your hotel in Cherrapunji for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Cherrapunji – Double Decker Root Bridge Trek – Return to Cherrapunji

Start early today for an adventurous trek to the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat village. The trek begins from Tyrna Village and involves a descent of over 3,000 steps through forests, small villages, and hanging bridges. The journey offers stunning views of waterfalls and dense green canopies. After spending quality time at the bridge and optionally taking a dip in natural pools nearby, begin the trek back to Tyrna and return to your hotel in Cherrapunji for a well-earned rest.
Day 4: Cherrapunji – Mawlynnong – Dawki
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, drive towards Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village, famous for its well-maintained streets, bamboo dustbins, and eco-friendly living. Visit the Balancing Rock, a natural geological formation, and climb the Sky Viewpoint, a bamboo watchtower offering stunning views of Bangladesh plains. Proceed to Dawki, a border town famous for the crystal-clear Umngot River. Enjoy a peaceful boat ride on its transparent waters where you can see the riverbed even from a height. Later, check in to a riverside camp or hotel for an overnight stay near Dawki or Shnongpdeng
Day 5: Dawki – Jowai – Shillong

After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Shillong via Jowai, the cultural capital of the Jaintia Hills. En route, visit Krang Suri Waterfalls, one of the most picturesque waterfalls in Meghalaya with turquoise blue water and a perfect picnic spot. Continue your drive back to Shillong. On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening. You may explore Ward’s Lake, Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, or simply stroll through the town.
Day 6: Shillong – Guwahati Drop
Meals: Breakfast
After an early breakfast, check out and proceed towards Guwahati for your return journey. If time permits en route, you may visit the Kamakhya Temple, a revered Shakti Peeth perched atop the Nilachal Hills. Later, you will be dropped at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station with beautiful memories of your Meghalaya trip.
