Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup at NJP – Transfer to Gangtok
Meals: None
Upon arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. The scenic drive takes you through lush tea gardens, winding mountain roads, and the serene Teesta River flowing alongside, setting the perfect tone for your Himalayan getaway. On reaching Gangtok, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax amidst the crisp mountain air. You can explore nearby markets such as MG Marg for local handicrafts, cafes, and souvenirs at your own pace. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir & Nathula Pass (Included)
Meals: Breakfast
Today unfolds as one of the most memorable days of your trip, taking you to the majestic heights of East Sikkim. Drive through winding mountain roads, climbing higher with every turn, as pine forests give way to rugged Himalayan landscapes. Your first stop is the enchanting Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), a glacial lake nestled at an altitude of 12,400 ft. The turquoise waters mirror the surrounding snow-capped peaks, creating a surreal, postcard-perfect sight. In winter, the lake freezes completely, transforming into a shimmering sheet of ice. You can even take a yak ride along the lakeside — an experience that feels straight out of a Himalayan dream. Continue onward to the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, built in honor of an Indian Army soldier revered as a guardian spirit of the mountains. The temple stands at 13,200 ft and radiates a deeply peaceful and patriotic aura. If permits and weather allow, move further to the legendary Nathula Pass, located on the Indo-China border at 14,140 ft. Standing here, amidst fluttering prayer flags and freezing winds, you can feel the immense pride of being so close to one of India’s highest motorable international borders. Return to Gangtok, soaking in the magnificent views and crisp mountain air all along the way. Overnight stay in Gangtok
Day 3: Transfer to Darjeeling via Ravangla
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to Gangtok and begin your drive toward Darjeeling, the “Queen of Hills.” On your way, take a halt at Ravangla, a peaceful town perched amidst cloud-kissed hills and lush greenery. Visit the magnificent Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal), where a towering 130-foot statue of Lord Buddha stands gracefully against the backdrop of the Himalayas. The serenity of the place, coupled with the scenic beauty of Ravangla, makes it a perfect spiritual and visual retreat. Continue your drive through picturesque valleys, winding tea gardens, and colonial-era mountain settlements until you reach Darjeeling. Check into your hotel and take a relaxed evening walk around Mall Road, where the aroma of freshly brewed Darjeeling tea and the sight of misty hills make the perfect welcome. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 4: Full-Day Sightseeing in Darjeeling
Meals: Breakfast
As dawn breaks, head to the legendary Tiger Hill (8,400 ft) to witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises in the world. Watch as the first rays of sunlight strike Mount Kanchenjunga, turning its snowy peaks golden while the distant Mount Everest peeks from behind — a view that leaves every traveler spellbound. After this magical start, visit the historic Ghoom Monastery, one of Darjeeling’s oldest monasteries, known for its 15-foot-high statue of Maitreya Buddha and a tranquil spiritual aura. Continue to the Batasia Loop, an engineering marvel of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, offering panoramic views of the town and mountains. Later, explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, established in honor of Tenzing Norgay. The institute houses mountaineering artifacts and stories from Everest expeditions that’ll inspire any traveler. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a ride on the Darjeeling Toy Train, a UNESCO World Heritage experience that winds through tea gardens and misty slopes. Don’t miss the Tea Gardens, where you can stroll through emerald-green plantations, learn about tea processing, and taste the freshest brew right where it grows. End your day exploring Chowrasta Mall Road, lined with cozy cafés, local shops, and a charming colonial vibe that defines Darjeeling’s soul. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 5: Departure from Darjeeling to NJP/Bagdogra
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, bid adieu to the serene hills and drive back to NJP/Bagdogra for your return journey. As the winding roads descend and the cool mountain breeze fades, you’ll carry with you the lasting memories of snow-capped peaks, peaceful monasteries, and the gentle rhythm of Himalayan life. Your Sikkim–Darjeeling escape ends, but the tranquility and magic of the mountains will stay etched in your heart forever.
